What To Do If Your Car Overheats

Many people don't always pay attention to their entire dashboard readings. The speedometer and the fuel tank levels are the two gauges people usually look at the most. But what if you are driving down the road and you notice smoke coming out of your hood. That's when it's a good idea to look at the engine temperature gauge on the dashboard. If the line indicator is near the "H", this means your engine is overheating. Pull over immediately or drive to a gas station if there is one nearby.

After your engine cools down for about twenty minutes, pop the hood and check your radiator. Is there enough coolant/antifreeze in it? Don't just look inside the plastic overflow bottle, but remove the radiator cap and look inside.. You should be able to clearly see the level of fluid and if it is at its right level.
